Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane In SUPERMAN
It’s a bird, it’s a plane…it’s Amy Adams! The LA Times has confirmed that actress, recently nominated for an Academy Award for her role in The Fighter, has been chosen to play journalist Lois Lane in the widely anticipated SUPERMAN revival.
Adams joins an increasingly starry cast that includes Henry Cavill as Clark Kent and the Man of Steel, and Kevin Costner and Diane Lane as Superman’s adoptive parents. Her casting announcement comes after a long search in which many A-list actors were considered, but according to director Zach Snyder, it was Adams who was the clear choice.
Adams first burst onto the scene in 2005 at the Sundance Film Festival where her movie, Junebug, earned her a special prize for her performance. Since then, she has been finding her niche in Hollywood by securing memorable roles in films such as Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Enchanted, Doubt, Julie & Julia, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Charlie Wilson’s War. She will next be seen in the film On The Road, alongside Viggo Mortensen, and in the new Muppets film.
