Geoffrey Rush Confirmed For GREEN LANTERN

The latest addition to the GREEN LANTERN cast? None other than Geoffrey Rush. According to the Los Angeles Times, the Oscar-winning actor has signed on to give his voice to the character of Tomar-Re, a CG-created alien who will teach Ryan Reynolds how to use his new powers.

Rush was last seen in the critically acclaimed Oscar winner The Kings Speech, for which he snagged a supoorting actor nomination. He will next be seen in his recurring role of Captain Barbossa in the fourth installment of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, due out in May.

The highly anticipated Green Lantern film will be directed by Martin Campbell, and in addition to Rush and Reynolds, stars Blake Lively, Mark Strong and Peter Sarsgaard. The film is slated for release on June 17th.
