Jeremy Renner To Go On The Run In THE BOURNE LEGACY
Is there ANYONE who could replace Matt Damon as Jason Bourne in the highly popular Bourne trilogy? That was the question for months, and it now appears that we have an answer. According to Deadline, actor Jeremy Renner was formally offered the lead role in the newest feature, THE BOURNE LEGACY.
Production is set to begin on the film in September. Similar to Matt Damon’s character, Renner will play a man who will be an operative from covert government program.
Renner, who was nominated the past two years for an Oscar for his work in The Hurt Locker and The Town, reportedly beat out hundreds of other young stars for the role, including actors such as Joel Edgerton, Dominic Cooper, Garrett Hedlund, Luke Evans, Taylor Kitsch and Anthony Mackie. He will next be seen in Mission: Impossible IV with Tom Cruise in December of 2012.
Do you think Jeremy Renner has what it takes to be the next Jason Bourne? Or are you of the mind frame that no one can replace Matt Damon? Discuss!
