Nathan Lane and Robert Emms Join Relativity Media’s SNOW WHITE Adaptation
Relativity Media’s untitled BROTHERS GRIMM: SNOW WHITE adaptation (one of three currently in production-way to be original, Hollywood) is filling out its cast. The production company announced it has closed deals with Tony Award-winning Nathan Lane (The Producers) and Robert Emms (War Horse).
Lane and Emms join Oscar-winner Julia Roberts, Lily Collins (The Blind Side), and Armie Hammer (The Social Network) in the film, which finds visionary director Tarsem Singh (Immortals) creating a spectacular reimagining of the classic fairy tale that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.
An evil queen (Roberts) and an exiled princess (Collins) struggle for control of their kingdom in a spirited adventure comedy, filled with jealousy, romance and betrayal. Lane will play the Queen’s servant Brighton while Emms will be Renbock, Prince Alcott’s (Hammer) valet.
The film’s producers are Relativity’s CEO Ryan Kavanaugh (The Fighter), Bernie Goldmann (300) and Brett Ratner (Rush Hour franchise). The script was written by Melissa Wallack (Meet Bill) and Jason Keller (Machine Gun Preacher).
Shooting begins next month and the film will be released June 29, 2012.
