Dish Network Spills Plans For Blockbuster Purchase
Last month Dish Network won an auction for Blockbuster video stores (the chain was bankrupt), but kept pretty closed lipped about their plans for the new purchase. But last week Dish announced exactly what their first plan for Blockbuster would be:
A free three month subscription to Blockbuster online will be available to new Dish Network TV customers. Blockbuster online is a DVD by mail service that was started to help Blockbuster fight off the, at that time, new Netflix. Blockbuster Online offers over 100,000 movies, TV shows, and games. and they’re all offered 28 days before Netflix and Redbox.
Blockbuster Online also allows you to exchange your mail rentals in store instead of mailing them back.
Dish Network’s Chief Marketing Officer Ira Bahr states: “Dish Network now offers more than twice as many movie choices as any other TV provider. If you love movies, you’re going to love Dish Network.”
We’ll see what else Dish Network has in store for their new acquired video store chain!
