99 cents Movie Coming to A Blockbuster Near You!
Summer movie season is now in full swing, and to help in-store sales, Dish Network has set some new prices for their Blockbuster stores. The satellite TV provider recently purchased the bankrupt rental store, and are rolling out some new prices for DVD rentals.
The Hollywood Reporter states that beginning on Friday, your local Blockbuster will have in store rentals available for only 99 cents a day. In addition to this new price, they will also be offering single day rentals as opposed to their standard 3 day rental periods. Rates for single days will be $2.99 for the first day for new releases, while older films will be $1.99 for the first day.
Blockbsuter president Michael Kelly stated: “Our customers are seeking a better value – we’ve answered with new pricing and the flexibility of single day rentals. Our new pricing gives our customers the best of both worlds: access to the latest releases – many 28 days before Netflix and Redbox – and the most movies at low prices.”
In addition to the lower rental prices, the chain also announced unlimited movie rentals through Blockbuster stores through the 4th of July.
When customers have to do is purchase a rental at the $2.99 rate, they can rent another for $1.99 or free for the first day. The customer can then return the movie for another priced at $1.99 for an unlimited number of times.
If you can find a Blockbuster that’s still open around you (Three have closed around me!), take advantage of their new prices!
