Russell Crowe May Father MAN OF STEEL
Production has yet to start on Christopher Nolan’s MAN OF STEEL, but the movie has already become one of the most highly anticipated and talked about films among entertainment websites. With most of the roles filled, only a few remain to be confirmed – including that of Jor-El, Superman’s biological father. And according to Variety, it is Russell Crowe who’s topping the list.
Crowe is currently in talks to take on the role, which was originally played by Marlon Brando in the 1978 film – however, there is no official confirmation on whether or not he will be signing onto the project. Along with Jor-El, the producers are also looking for a name to play the role of Superman’s biological mother.
Man Of Steel is set to be directed by Zack Snyder, with Henry Cavill as Superman. Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane and Michael Shannon are already on board for the reboot, whose plot details are being kept underwraps for the time being.
Awesome! I can’t wait to see Russell Crowe as Jor-El — I remember Marlon Brando in the 1978 Superman, but I’m sure Russell Crowe will be incredible. As for the role of Lara, has anyone thought of Cate Blanchett? She and Russell were terrific in Robin Hood, and I’d love to see them do a film again.
