Comic Con 2011: Robert Rodriguez Panel
In this panel, Robert Rodriguez talks about what his new production company, Quick Draw Productions, has in store in terms of projects:
But first he wanted to give an update on his current projects.
- Machete sequel has been greenlit and will be called “Machete Kills”. If there is a number 3, it should be called “Machete Kills Again”. If there is a #4, it will be called “Machete Kills Again in Space”.
- The sequel to Sin City will be called Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill to For. If it happens, production might start this year and might be in 3D.
- First Project Announced: HEAVY METAL The Movie. Rodriguez got the movie rights to the brand. has options open to do an animated movie, a game or something else all together. The main idea is to make the movie into 3 stories with a wraparound. Everyone can submit story ideas, short films,characters for heavy metal through a web site www.amd.com/heavymetal
- Second project announced: Frank Frazetta Fire and Ice movie rights acquired. Also Frank Frazetta museum opened in Austin Texas. Ten pieces of his art will be in San Diego Friday.
