Ridley Scott To Direct Blade Runner Reboot
Director Ridley Scott will be directing a new “Blade Runner” film in the coming months, but this new film will not be like so many other reboots hitting theaters. Alcon Entertainment owns the rights to “Blade Runner” and immediately thought of Scott as their director.
The story for the newest film is still in the works and no writer has been hired to work on the script, but executives at Alcon have confirmed the film is not going to be a reboot. Instead, the film is going to be either a prequel or sequel to the original.
In keeping with the current Hollywood trend of rebooting or breathing new life into classic films, Scott is currently wrapping up work on “Prometheus.” The film is a sequel, of sorts, to his 1979 film “Alien.”
