Columbia Pictures Plans To Bring Life Back To FLATLINERS
Remember the 1990 drama FLATLINERS that starred a bunch of young stars like Kevin Bacon, Keifer Sutherland and Julia Roberts as medical students? As would be doctors, the friends decide to basically kill themselves while the others stand by and revive the dead one before too much time passes.
The point is to bring yourself to a near death experience just to see if there’s anything beyond this physical world. What could possibly go wrong with that plan, right? Well, the group quickly finds out and begins to wonder if the things they’re seeing are hallucinations or grounded in reality.
If you DON’T remember the Joel Schumacher version of Flatliners, fear not – The Hollywood Reporter has news that Columbia Pictures is brining Flatliners back to the big screen. Source Code writer Ben Ripley is penning the script, and Laurence Mark (Julia & Julia) will produce. Further Films (who produced the original) will also have a hand in the reboot.
What do you think? Can Columbia breathe life into Flatliners for a new audience? Will fans of the original see the remake? Will Keeifer make a cameo? Let us know in the comments below!
