Fox To Sneak Matt Damon’s WE BOUGHT A ZOO This Thanksgiving

In a move that is not typical for movie studios, Twentieth Century Fox is all set to sneak the new Matt Damon and Scarlet Johansson film WE BOUGHT A ZOO almost a full month before the actual release. In conjunction with the social media site TOUT, Fox will allow those that catch the sneak peek a chance to post their own reviews, and participate in a live chat with director Cameron Crowe.
The Hollywood Reporter states that the sneak peek comes after results from test screenings in various cities. “Once in a while, we’re lucky enough to have a picture to which audiences of all kinds and all ages respond so strongly, that it demands a big and unexpected event. We Bought a Zoo is that kind of picture — and Thanksgiving is a great time to share it via this special very early preview,” Oren Aviv, president and chief marketing office of Fox stated.
The actual release for We Bought a Zoo is set for December 23, but the studio has such high hopes for the film they will screen it in 800 theaters nationwide hoping that word of mouth marketing kicks in.
We Bought a Zoo follows the story of a single father that gives his family a new start and moves them into a home directly in the center of an old zoo. The family takes it upon themselves to restore the old zoo to its former state. Elle Fanning and Thomas Haden Church also star in the PG-rated film.
