Marion Cotillard Offered Role Of Morgana in ARTHUR & LANCELOT
It seems that Warner Bros’ may have found just the right woman to take on the role of Morgana in David Dobkins ARTHUR & LANCELOT. Warner Bros’ newest staple Marion Cotillard (Incepton, Contagion, The Dark Knight Rises) has been offered the role of Morgana, but no news yet if she’ll accept the part.
Arthur & Lancelot is a modern take on the classic tale and Warner Bros has approved the re-telling complete with a $90 million dollar budget. Dobkins (Wedding Crashers) will direct and produce the film, with Lionel Wigram and Jeff Kleeman stepping in to executive produce. While the studio waits for an answer from Cotillard, Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) will wear the King Arthur crown and Joel Kinniman (The Killing) will play Lancelot.
Arthur & Lancelot is getting the fast track treatment, and is being scheduled for a March 15, 2013 release. This will be the third Arthurian picture that Warner Bros had planned, Brian Singer and Guy Richie were looking to re-tell the tale, but there are reports that this modern recreation may bring the other films to a close.
