Aaron Sorkin Will Write “Steve Jobs” For Sony
It looks like Sony has set a writer for their Steve Jobs biopic! The Hollywood Reporter announced last week that Aaron Sorkin, the guy that took home the Oscar for The Social Network and A Few Good Men, has signed to write the screen play based on Walter Isaacson’s biography: Steve Jobs.
Sony bought the rights to the biography in October and approached Sorkin in November about penning the screenplay. He stted that he was “seriously considering” it, and with his track record, who can blame Sony for wanting Sorkin as their first pick?
Amy Pascal, Sony Pictures Entertainment co-chairman said: “Steve Jobs’ story is unique: he was one of the most revolutionary and influential men not just of our time but of all time. There is no writer working in Hollywood today who is more capable of capturing such an extraordinary life for the screen than Aaron Sorkin; in his hands, we’re confident that the film will be everything that Jobs himself was: captivating, entertaining and polarizing.”
Inferno Entertainment is selling their biopic Jobs, staring Ashton Kutcher as the Apple co-founder. Right now, there isn’t a date for when Sony will start production on their film.
