Philip Seymour Hoffman Cast in ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’
Philip Seymour Hoffman has been cast in the forthcoming second installment of The Hunger Games entitled Catching Fire. The award winning actor will take on the role of Plutarch Heavensbee who is the Head Gamemaker for The Hunger Games.
The film is set for a 2013 release on November 22nd and follows leading character Katniss Everdeen as she has returns “home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.”
Fans know Philip Seymour Hoffman best for his roles in several movies over the years. He has appeared in ‘The Invention of Lying’, ‘Pirate Radio’, ‘Jack Goes Boating’, ‘Mary and Max’, ‘Punch-Drunk Love’, ‘The Talented Mr. Ripley’, ‘Doubt’, ‘Strangers with Candy’, ‘Before the Devil Knows You’re Dead’, ‘Mission: Impossible III’, and more.
