Tim Burton’s The Art of Frankenweenie Comic-Con Exhibit
One of the things I was most looking forward to checking out at Comic-Con this year was The Art of Frankenweenie exhibit on the Comic-Con floor, which I got to see during preview night and it was quite amazing.
If you’ve been following our coverage of the upcoming Tim Burton flick, you know that I am totally excited to see it and the exhibition gave us access to some of the incredible art that went into designing the movie, including one of the actual sets of the movie (seriously I wish I could have one of those at home to look at all the time). The next best thing are pics and footage I guess, and I can share it all with you. Enjoy! And if you’re at Comic-Con, make sure to drop by the Disney booth #3635.
The movie stars the voices of Winona Ryder, Martin Short, Catherine O’Hara, Martin Landau, Charlie Tahan, Atticus Shaffer, Robert Capron, Conchata Ferrell. The movie will be released to theaters on October 5, 2012. You can find all our coverage of Frankenweenie here.
From creative genius Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life—with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
A stop-motion animated film, “Frankenweenie” will be filmed in black and white and rendered in 3D, which will elevate the classic style to a whole new experience.
