Amanda Plummer Joins ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’
Pulp Fiction actress Amanda Plummer has been tapped to star in the Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The fifty-five year old performer is slated to take on the role of Wiress, one of the more interesting characters from the world of the ‘Hunger Games’.
Plummer’s character is known best to fans as the character who is nicknamed “Nuts”. She is a valuable tribute who does not communicate like her Quarter Quell peers. According to the plot details, ‘Catching Fire’ will follow Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) a she has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.”
Over her successful career, Plummer has appeared in the forthcoming film ‘Thicker’, ‘Strangely in Love’, ‘Abigail Harm’, ‘Small Apartments’, ‘Sophomore’, ‘Today’s Headlines’, ‘Dr. Ketel’, and ‘Vampire’. She has also been featured in the film ‘Girlfriend’, ‘The Making of Plus One’, and the children’s animated series ‘Phineas & Ferb’.
‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ is slated to hit the big screen next year just in time for the holiday season November 22, 2013.
