Jonathan Rhys Meyers In Talks For ‘The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones’
Actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers is said to be in talks for a role in The Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones according to The Hollywood Reporter. If Meyers does ink a deal to star in the Cassandra Clare adaption he would play a “powerful but insane Shadowhunter” by the name of Valentine Morgenstern.
The role would place ‘The Tudors’ star opposite leading lady Lily Collins (The Blind Side) actress Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Kevin Zegers (Dawn of the Dead), who was recently cast, and actor Jared Harris (Mad Men).
‘City of Bones’ follows a teenage girl (Collins) who “discovers she is the descendant of a secret cadre of half-angel warriors called Shadowhunters locked in an ancient battle to protect the world from demons.”
Meyers is currently getting ready to make his return to the small screen in NBC’s upcoming series ‘Dracula’. The performer has also appeared in the action thriller ‘Mission Impossible 3’, ‘Albert Knobbs’, ‘’Match Point’, ‘Bend it Like Beckham’, ‘August Rush’, ‘From Paris with Love’, ‘Shelter’ and ‘Vanity Fair’. Additionally he has also starred in ‘Elvis’, ‘Octane’, ‘The Emperor’s Wife’ and ‘I’ll Sleep When I Am Dead’.
