‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Reveals More Casting
Lionsgate and movie heads behind the highly anticipated second installment of The Hunger Games entitled Catching Fire have announced a slew of new cast members set to join the 2013 film. Cast in the role of Enobaria is actress Meta Golding who is known for her guest roles in ‘CSI’ and ‘Cold Case’. Golding’s character, as fans will recall, is a former career tribute from District 2. She is notorious for her brutal but death defying way in which she managed to win the games.
Joining Golding is actor Bruno Gunn who will play Brutus. The well known ‘Oz’ performer will appear on the big screen as the Career Victor. Meanwhile ‘Smallville’ star Alan Ritchson has also been cast in ‘Catching Fire’. A ‘Blue Mountain State’ prankster, the actor is slated to portray Gloss, a good looking Quarter Quell competitor and Career Tribute.
In addition to the trio, actors E. Rodger Mitchell and Maria Howell have also signed on to be part of the Suzanne Collins big screen adaption. Mitchell, who fans may recognize from ‘The Shield’ and ‘One Tree Hill’ will star as Chaff, a District 11 Tribute while Howell (The Blind Side) is set to take on the role of Seeder.
In the second installment “‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ will recommence as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.”
The movie will be directed by Francis Lawrence and will arrive in theaters on November 22, 2013. Tell us what you think of this latest casting news below.
