Joss Whedon Signs Up For ‘Avengers 2’ & A Marvel TV Series
Joss Whedon has officially signed up to both write and direct Avengers 2 after much speculation, Slash Film has confirmed. Finally accepting the huge undertaking, Whedon’s decision comes after some hesitation on the ‘Buffy’ creator’s part on whether or not he wanted to continue with the ‘Avengers’ and their multi-million dollar success at the box office.
“It’s an enormous amount of work telling what is ultimately somebody else’s story, even though I feel like I did get to put myself into it. But at the same time, I have a bunch of ideas, and they all seem really cool,” Whedon shared before accepting the deal. ‘The Avengers 2’ has just revealed a release date of May 1, 2015 with filming on the Marvel superhero story set to take place in 2014.
Aside from his deal to bring Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and the rest of the gang back, Whedon is also working on a Marvel live action TV series set to air on the ABC Network. More news on the small screen feature is sure to be released as production moves forward. Whedon brings with him a large and impressive resume as fans of the writer know. He is responsible for the series ‘Dollhouse’, ‘Toy Story’, ‘Angel’, and the 1980’s sitcom ‘Roseanne’, to name a few.
