Stephanie Leigh Schlund Cast As Cashmere In ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’
As part of the recent slew of casting for the Suzanne Collins adaption of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire it has been revealed that actress Stephanie Leigh Schlund of ‘The Last Song’ fame has been tapped to play the role of Cashmere. Her character is known as a one time Career tribute that reigns from District 1. Cashmere and her brother Gloss, who will be portrayed by actor Alan Ritchson of ‘Smallville’, will both be competing in the Quarter Quell.
The Georgia native is known for her appearances in Lifetime’s ‘Drop Dead Diva’ and the series ‘Past Life’ more recently, and she is also part of the cast of this year’s new freshman series ‘The Following’. The ‘We Are Marshall’ performer will appear alongside ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ trio of Jennifer Lawrence (Winter’s Bone), Josh Hutcherson (Red Dawn) and Liam Hemsworth (The Elephant Princess), who she worked with on the already mentioned movie ‘The Last Song’.
The Francis Lawrence directed second installment will make its way to theaters on November 22, 2013 and is set to chronicle Katniss Everdeen and her return back home following the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark.
