‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ Has Cast Sam Claflin As Finnick Odair
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire has found their Finnick Odair in actor Sam Claflin. His character was the victor of District 4 at the young age of just 14 years old and is described as both “charismatic and clever.”
Claflin will be introduced in the second installment when the story picks up just as “Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson). Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.”
‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ will be released to theaters on November 22nd 2013. Claflin’s credits include the films ‘ Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’, ‘United’ and ‘The Lost Future’. He is currently filming on ‘The Quiet Ones’, ‘Mary & Martha’ the TV movie, ‘Overdrive’ and ‘Belle’.
