Michael Keaton Cast In ‘RoboCop’ Remake
Casting on the remake of RoboCop has been finalized with former ‘Batman’ star Michael Keaton ending the casting search. Keaton has boarded the Jose Padilha directed action picture in replacement of Hugh Laurie who has since dropped out of the Robo reboot just last week according to reports from The Hollywood Reporter.
Heat Vision was said to initially have broken the news with Padilha issuing a statement about Keaton’s new villainous role as the CEO of Omnicorp. “Michael is the final addition to the amazing cast we have assembled for this film, and it is so great to have the last puzzle piece in place. It is thrilling that everything has come together to bring this innovative new vision of ‘RoboCop’ to life. We’ve got a great script, a great cast, some killer ED-209s, and I can’t wait to get Alex Murphy back on the streets.” Keaton joins the already cast Joel Kinnaman (The Killing), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight) and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers).
The actor is also scheduled to voice the role of Ken in the animated children’s movie ‘Toy Story 4’. The seasoned actor is best known for his previous roles over the years in the 2010 comedy ‘The Other Guys’, the TV mini- series ‘The Company’, ‘The Last Time’ and ‘Herby Fully Loaded’.
