David Slade Could Direct Disney’s ‘Matched’
Twilight Saga director David Slade who helmed the second installment ‘Eclipse’ with actors Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson is in line to possibly take on Disney’s upcoming film Matched, as confirmed by Deadline. The young-adult novel adaption comes from writer Ally Condie and is published through the company Penguin. The trilogy follows a young girl by the name of Cassia that lives in a dystopian world where society believes those that create a life together must be matched. After being paired with Xander the movie will chronicle Cassia as she is torn between the rules and her love for Ky Markham.
If Slade does ink a deal with Disney he would be working with a script from Kieran and Michelle Mulroney, the duo behind ‘Sherlock Holmes 2’ along with producers Jennifer Gibgot and Adam Shankman. Details are sure to be on the way with the third book of the series, Reached, set to hit shelves this coming November.
