Renee Zellweger To Direct Comedy ‘4 1/2 Minutes’
Renee Zellweger will hop into the director’s chair for the first time as the actress has announced she plans to helm the comedy movie entitled 4 1/2 Minutes. The forthcoming production, per The Hollywood Reporter, will also feature Zellweger pulling double duty, taking on the role of a single mom who hires on a washed up comedian to care for her brilliant young son. The comedian will be played by none other than ‘Jack Ass’ funnyman Johnny Knoxville.
The script for ‘4 1/2 Minutes’ was penned writer Anthony Tambakis of ‘Warrior’ and has been adapted for the big screen using the true life story of stand-up comedian Dov Davidoff who also helped to create the story for its debut into theaters. The trio of Frakes, Zellweger and Tambakis will all produce the film under their banner All Together Now. Raj Brinder Singh will also be on board as executive producer. Production will take place this February on location in New York.
