Matthew Vaughn Not Directing ‘X-Men: First Class 2’; Bryan Singer Primed to Take Over
Sad news for ‘X-Men: First Class’ fans, as director Matthew Vaughn has decided not to direct the comic book spin-off’s upcoming sequel, ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past‘. Bryan Singer, director of the first two ‘X-Men’ movies, is reportedly on the studio’s shortlist to replace him.
Singer has been involved in the spin-off as a writer and producer, and now it looks as if Vaughn will take on these duties with Singer back at the helm. Vaughn will move on to fellow FOX project, ‘Secret Service’, an adaptation of Mark Millar’s comic book series.
‘Days of Future Past’ will welcome back Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Jennifer Lawrence, with the studio hoping for a July 18, 2013 release date.
