Tom Hardy Attached to Star in Video Game Adaption ‘Splinter Cell’
After another year that proved beyond doubt that video game adaptations are harder to do than Hollywood thinks, news of another has arrived, and it has come with an A-list name attached. Tom Hardy is attached to Splinter Cell, being developed by Ubisoft’s motion picture unit.
Eric Singer, who wrote Black List script ‘American Bullshit’, is currently working on the film, which stars Sam Fisher, a highly trained operative battling international terrorists along with his team. The game series first appeared in 2002, with a sixth installment set for release next year.
Ubisoft are also developing a big screen adaptation of hit game ‘Assassin’s Creed’, and is working on ‘Splinter Cell’ internally before taking it to studios. Time will tell whether Hardy’s name remains attached until then.
