James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender & Patrick Stewart Unite For ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’
After Director Bryan Singer of ‘X-Men’ fame shared the exciting news of a new installment some months back, the helmer has now followed up with a tweet regarding casting that is sure to thrill Marvel fans across the board. Per The Hollywood Reporter, Singer has managed to unite actors, James McAvoy (Atonement), Michael Fassbender (Shame), Patrick Stewart (Star Trek) for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Actress Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games), Nicholas Hoult (About a Boy), and Ian McKellan (The Hobbit) will all be appearing in the sequel to ‘X:Men: First Class’ as well. As far as rumors regarding Hugh Jackman’s (Wolverine) involvement, those are still swirling with confirmation sure to be on the way.
This latest installment, ‘Days of Future Past’, will be based on the storyline that was explored in two 1981 issues of the comic entitled ‘Uncanny X-Men’ from writer Chris Claremont with the help of artists John Byrne and Terry Austin. The comic storyline was partially took place in an alternate future where surviving mutants where housed in concentration camps, “giant robots named Sentinels patrol America, and most of the X-Men have been hunted and killed. In the present day, the X-Men were forced to stop a key event from unfolding in order to keep that future from occurring.”
‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ is slated to hit theaters on July 18th 2014.
