‘Inglorious Basterds’ Star Daniel Bruhl to Replace James McAvoy in DreamWorks’ WikiLeaks Movie
It seemed too good to be true when not one, but two dashing British gents were cast in DreamWorks’ untitled WikiLeaks movie, and now we’ve learned that James McAvoy will no longer be starring alongside Benedict Cumberbatch.
Negotiations with James McAvoy broke down over scheduling issues with ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’, and he will be replaced with German actor, Daniel Bruhl. He will play Daniel Domscheit-Berg, who wrote ‘WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange at the World’s Most Dangerous Website’ and who became the organization’s spokesman.
Cumberbatch will play Assange, the founder of WikiLeaks, and the film will be directed by Bill Condon.
