Chris Pratt Wins Lead Role in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Movie
After ‘The Avengers’ exploded into cinemas last summer to the tune of many, many cash registers jingling, studios are scrambling to make the next big superhero-uniting blockbuster, and Marvel weren’t going to take any chances with their lead in Guardians of the Galaxy.
Chris Pratt, who has previously starred in ‘Moneyball’, ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ and TV’s ‘Parks and Recreation’ has been chosen to star in the upcoming film, and will play the part of the Star-Lord. The character is the leader of the Guardians and hails from a human mother and an alien father.
Reportedly beating names like Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston, Jim Sturgess, Lee Pace, Eddie Redmayne, Zachary Levi and Joseph Gordon-Levitt to the role, this is big deal for an actor who has so far only played supporting characters on the big screen.
