Gary Oldman to Lead the Resistance in ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’
James Franco may be on the outs, but the cast of upcoming sequel/prequel Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is cooking up very nicely. Gary Oldman is the latest to sign onto the film, to be directed by Matt Reeves.
Not much is known of the plot, but we do know that the action will be set 15 years after the events of ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’. We’ll focus on a group of scientists who are struggling for survival in a deserted future San Francisco.
Andy Serkis is returning as Caesar, leader of the ape revolution, and Jason Clarke and Kodi Smit-McPhee have also been cast. Oldman will play a former police commissioner and diplomatic leader of the human resistance.
