Carrie Fisher Confirms Return to ‘Star Wars’
We had all expected news like this when other stars of the original Star Wars trilogy started announcing possible returns, but now Carrie Fisher has officially signed on for LucasFilm/Disney’s new film series, as iconic character Princess Leia.
As with other casting news that has emerged online, the film’s storyline being kept so firmly under wraps makes speculation particularly fruitless. Fisher has said: “She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home,” she told the magazine with a laugh. “I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.”
Whether Mark Hamill, who played brother Luke Skywalker, is making a return is still open for debate, but signs look good. More news when we have it.
