‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ Sequel Announced as Movie Reaches $200 Million Worldwide
It’s the news that nobody, especially not critics, asked for – Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters has a sequel in development at Paramount and MGM, despite the movie bombing in the US.
It seems to have been the international box office, in which the film has fared quite well, that has convinced the studio to green-light a follow-up despite an abysmal reaction from critics and, presumably, audience word-of-mouth.
But it appears to be happening, no matter what the reason, and stars Jeremy Renner and Gemma Arterton will presumably return for more adventures. Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Kevin Messick and Beau Flynn are also thought to be returning as producers.
