Luke Evans Signs on to Star in Universal’s ‘Dracula’ Reboot
We might have heard the story a hundred times, but Universal are trying again with Dracula – previously titled Dracula Year Zero, and Luke Evans as just joined the project.
Evans will portray the iconic titular character, in a film that promises to tell The Count’s origin story. Ad director Gary Shore is at the helm in his directorial debut with a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
Universal were also responsible for Dracula’s first big screen appearance in 1931, and now they no doubt hope to create a film with as a lasting an impression. This version of the character will begin as a young prince, who becomes the vampire while trying to protect his wife and child.
