Casting Net: Jessica Chastain (‘The Zookeepers Wife’), Chris O’Dowd (‘The Coward’), Daniel Radcliffe (‘Tokyo Vice’), and Jon Hamm (‘Minions’) Updates
Casting news releases daily (if not hourly). A few notables over the past couple days include:
Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) joined The Zookeepers Wife, a true story about zookeepers of the Warsaw Zoo that helped saves lives during World War II. It’ll be directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider) and may play at the Cannes International Film Festival. (Source: THR)
Chris O’Dowd (Bridesmaids) will star in Max Winkler’s (Ceremony) The Coward. The story takes place in 18th Century England and deals with a dueler (Adam Driver) that hires a criminal to fight. A release date isn’t available yet. (Source: THR)
Daniel Radcliffe (The Harry Potter franchise) will play a reporter trying to expose a dangerous gangster and the personal struggles that come of it. The pic will be directed by Anthony Mandler, known for his music video direction, and still doesn’t have a release date. (Source: Deadline)
Jon Hamm (AMC’s Mad Men) seems to be the odd man out. Not only is his news comedy-related, but it’s also animated. Hamm will be voicing a character in Minions, a spin-off of the Despicable Me franchise. Details aren’t very evident, but Sandra Bullock is involved in the project, too. (Source: EW)
