‘Pride and Prejudice and Zombies’ Back On! Lily Collins Nabbed as Star
It’s been a tumultuous ride. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies has tried (and failed) to become a movie many times. Based on Seth Grahame-Smith’s parody novel (of the same name), it’s a mashup of Jane Austen’s classic (Pride and Prejudice) and zombies. Why not, right? Zombies have been the recent craze.
Grahame-Smith also wrote the novel Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter that released as a movie last year.
The wild ride from print to movie theater has included many names (that ultimately didn’t work out). The most exciting was director David O. Russell (Silver Linings Playbook) and star Scarlett Johansson (The Avengers). As it stands today, Burr Steers (17 Again) will direct and Lily Collins (Mirror Mirror) will star.
A release date hasn’t been set, but all this appears to be good news for fans of the popular novel.
