See The Coen Brothers’ ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ This December
All the great working directors have churned out movies in the last couple years. The Coen Brothers have been the exception.
Since 2010’s True Grit, the duo have remained out of the spotlight.
That is coming to an end, though, because their folk music inspired Inside Llewyn Davis, starring Oscar Isaac (Drive), Carey Mulligan, and Justin Timberlake, set a limited release date.
It’ll open December 6, then expand on December 20, putting it in prime position to make an awards season push.
For those unfamiliar with the premise, the Coen Brothers wrote the screenplay, and loosely based it on Dave Van Ronk’s 2005 memoir. It’ll center around folk music in and around New York during the 1960’s. If nothing else, it could cause a big splash in the music industry (like O Brother, Where Art Thou?)
Time will tell how successful the movie ends up being (with critics and audiences), but I know I’m penciling in the newest Coen Brother collaboration!
