Warner Bros Developing Another ‘Dungeons and Dragons’ Movie
Swords and sorcery fantasy fiction is still as popular as ever so you can’t really blame Warner Bros for trying to cash in on one of the most enduring properties in the genre’s history – Dungeons and Dragons.
The studio has acquired the rights for a movie version of the role-playing game, to be produced by Roy Lee and Courtney Soloman. David Leslie Johnson has been brought in to write the script.
The game has been with us since 1974, and there has already been an attempt to adapt the concept to the big screen. Jeremy Irons starred in the 2000 movie, which bombed at the box office and faded into distant memory pretty quickly. There were then two sequels made, one for TV and another direct-to-DVD.
