Film Equals Update: Ch-Ch-Changes
We hope that you have been enjoying your summer and are gearing up for a festive 4th of July. Here at Film Equals, we have been having a pretty busy summer, especially with our recent coverage of the 2013 LA Film Festival and are making preparations for our yearly trek to Comic-Con 2013.
As we hit our mid-year mark, we thought this would be a good time to slow things down a bit and take a little time to chat with you a bit about where things are headed for Film Equals.
For a little while now, we have been taking a hard look at our editorial slate and thinking about what we can do to bring more value to you, our beautiful and smart readers. After a lot of thinking and discussion, we have come up with a new editorial plan that we feel better reflects our ideals and will hopefully make Film Equals more interesting for you.
So without further ado, here are the changes that we are going to implement:
1. One Post To Rule Them All
Instead of focusing on daily multiple posts for trailers, news, and other media that comes out, we are going to consolidate a lot of those into long form articles that cover a specific type of media and highlight what has been released since the previous week.
For example: On Mondays, we will publish a Trailer Round Up with some of the top trailers that you should be watching this week. Here is an example
Here is how the week will shape out from now on:
Mondays – Trailer Round-Up
Tuesdays – Poster Mania
Wednesdays – Photos Mania
Thursday – News Round-Up
Friday – Clip Mania (only when we have new interesting clips to share)
2. Let’s Talk Movies
In addition to this new kind of article, we will also have more movie chats on a weekly basis where we can talk about things like Horror Films for the Cowardly Viewer or The Simple Joy of the Feel-Good Movie.
3. Some Things Never Change
Not everything is going to change. We will still be covering weekly movie reviews, celebrity interviews and event coverage (LAFF, Comic-Con etc).
So there you go, reader, a few changes coming your way but hopefully all for the better.
On July 31st, Film Equals will have officially reached its 6 year anniversary. Six years of exciting and fun articles that we have enjoyed greatly and want to keep going in the most compelling way possible. As we look back at all the movies, actors and events we covered, we are proud of everything we have shared with you and we are looking forward to the next 6 years with you by our side.
Of course, we welcome your thoughts, comments and suggestions so feel free to leave a comment below if you have something on your mind. And lastly, a huge THANK YOU for your continued support.
