Exclusive: 7 Questions To Heather Doerksen From Pacific Rim
If you can’t wait to go watch Pacific Rim this weekend, you are in luck as Film Equals got the opportunity for a quick chat with one of the stars of film, Heather Doerksen (The “O” is silent) who plays Lt. Sasha Kaidanovsky, a co-pilot for the Russian Jaeger (A Jaeger is one of the amazing killer robots featured in the film).
You may not recognize her right away in the film as she is wearing a battle suit and her hair might be slightly different but fans of shows like Stargate Atlantis, Fringe or even Battlestar Galactica have all had the pleasure to see this fantastic beautifully talented rising star make her mark on the screen. And Pacific Rim will be no different.

Describe Pacific Rim? Heather describes it as an epic adventure with Monsters vs Robots.
The most appealing part playing Sasha? Heather thought that it was fun to play a character that had this stoic part to them. Also it was great to train hardcore at the gym in order to prepare for the role as she is typically more into gentler exercises.
What about the CGI and the costume you were wearing? The suit she was wearing was not as heavy as it looked but at the end of the day, she was glad to take it off. On the CGI front, she aw the final movie recently and was blown away by the CGI because she mostly worked in a green screen environment.
What about the upcoming movie “Hidden” with Alexander Skarsgard? It’s going a zombie apocalypse survival movie in which she plays a friend of the family.
With so many great projects under her belt (Stargate Atlantis, Fringe, Battlestar Galactica). What sort of roles and movie genres is she more attracted to? She loves playing parts of women who are in charge. But She is also looking to add more comedies in her roster of projects as well.
Favorite director or actor? She would love to work with Meryl Streep because she admires her work a lot and would also love to work with Sofia Coppola because she likes the way Sofia lets her actors luxuriate in the moments.
