Poster Mania: The Family, Rush, Her, and More
After yesterday’s super edition of Trailer Round-Up, I’ve attached the newest posters for the week (and one from beyond). I have to admit, this week’s edition isn’t the most powerful line-up. However, there are character posters for The Family as well as new posters for Rush, Her, Godzilla, A.C.O.D., Best Man Down, and Butcher Boys.
Keep scrolling to the check them all out!
Luc Besson’s (The Fifth Element) actioner The Family released five character posters. Starring Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer (I Am Sam), and Tommy Lee Jones, Besson’s film will release September 13th in North America. It’s about a witness protection-relocated family that reverts back to their old habits. Check out all the posters below.
A slightly different international poster released for Rush as well. The latest from Ron Howard (A Dangerous Mind) shows a different release date than in the U.S. For limited audiences, you can see the movie September 20th, but most will see it September 27th. No matter what date it’s available, the movie is an action film about a dangerous rivalry between F1 drivers (Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl). (Source: IMP Awards)
With its debut trailer, Her also released a poster. The poster shows a mustached Joaquin Phoenix (The Master). Spike Jonze (Adaptation) directs Amy Adams (Man of Steel), Rooney Mara (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), and Scarlett Johansson (The Avengers). The movie graces theaters starting November 20th. Admittedly, the above Godzilla poster isn’t really that new. However, sometimes I miss something that got released (I’m human after all!). Rather than ignoring it, I thought I’d slip in the cool poster for next year’s Godzilla adaptation. I was impressed with what I saw at Comic-Con, and I can tell you the breadth of the monster is even bigger on the big screen. Gareth Edwards (Monsters) is the director, while Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass), Bryan Cranston (Argo), and Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) all headline the big-budget action film. We’ll have to wait until May 16, 2014 for the full film. (Source: Variety)
Stu Zicherman’s comedy A.C.O.D. (which stands for Adult Children of Divorce) released an Adam Scott-centric poster. Scott is joined by Parks and Recreation star Amy Poehler as well as Jessica Alba (The Fantastic Four), Jane Lynch (Role Models), and Richard Jenkins (Step Brothers) for the divorce/family comedy. Unfortunately, a release date hasn’t been nailed down yet. Maybe that’s why Scott looks so dumbfounded. (Source: EW)
Another independent film, this one titled Best Man Down (directed by Ted Koland), released a poster. Starring the likes of Justin Long (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) and Jess Weixler (Teeth), Best Man Down is about a newlywed couple (Long and Weixler) that must postpone their honeymoon after the unfortunate passing of their best man. It’ll be in theaters November 8th after a Video On Demand release on October 3rd.
Previously titled Boneboys, Duane Graves and Justin Meeks’ retitled horror film Butcher Boys released a new poster. The gruesome poster releases ahead of the September 6th limited release. It stars actors Ali Faulkner (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1), Edwin Neal (JFK), and Derek Lee Nixon (When in Rome). (Source: Horror-Movies)
