Clip Mania: The World’s End, Closed Circuit, The Grandmaster, and More
To finish off the week, I’ve gathered the newest clips from around the web. These clips highlight specific scenes within movies, including two that come out starting today (three from The World’s End and two from The Grandmaster). Also, you can catch four clips from Closed Circuit, two from the One Direction: This is Us documentary, and one from A Single Shot.
If you don’t mind having some scenes spoiled, you can check out the final three clips released ahead of today’s The World’s End debut. The next installment in the “Cornetto” trilogy (check out my franchise review here) again teams up Simon Pegg and Nick Frost with director Edgar Wright. The clips highlight the humor that’s present in the other two movies while leading me to believe the newest film will be just as funny.
I found four clips for the upcoming thriller Closed Circuit. Starring Eric Bana (Funny People) and Rebecca Hall (The Prestige), Closed Circuit is about two lawyers that find themselves in the middle of an elaborate set of lies and corruption. John Crowley (Intermission) is the director and the four clips above play on the thriller part of the movie.
Another movie releasing today is The Grandmaster. Unlike The World’s End, The Grandmaster is only available in limited theaters. If you like martial arts movies, this is probably a pretty safe bet. Both clips feature lots of fighting with one being another look at the fight featured in one of the trailers. Wong Kar-wai (My Blueberry Nights) directs stars Tony Leung Chiu-Wai (Lust, Caution) and Zhang Ziyi (House of Flying Daggers).
For those interested (unlike me) in the music documentary One Direction: This is Us, I’ve attached two behind-the-scenes look at the popular band. The movie, which releases August 30th, is a look at the quick rise for the pop band that ends in a concert in London. At least Morgan Suprlock (Super Size Me) is the director.
And last, but not least, is the Sam Rockwell (Moon)-led clip for A Single Shot. The crime thriller released a hunting scene for the movie about a man tracking down criminals that tragically killed a young girl. Rockwell is joined by William H. Macy (Magnolia) in the movie directed by David M. Rosenthal (Janie Jones). For those interested, you can see the movie now on Video On Demand or wait until September 20th for the theatrical run.
Thanks for tuning in this week. Check back next Friday for more clips!
