Trailer Round-Up: RoboCop, Gravity, Kill Your Darlings, and More
Happy Monday folks! Having trouble getting through your first day back at the office? There’s no better way to cure a case of the Mondays than a nice dose of new trailers. This week I’ll embed trailers for RoboCop, Gravity, Kill Your Darlings, Neighbors (red-band), 47 Ronin, All is Bright, and Runner, Runner.
In all, it’s a pretty good week for new trailers.
The first trailer for the RoboCop remake finally came online. It’s the next big remake, and I’m hoping it’s better than other sci-fi remakes (I’m looking at you Total Recall). This one has some great starpower, including Joel Kinnaman (AMC’s The Killing), Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises), and Samuel L. Jackson. The reboot, by the way of director José Padilha (Secrets of the Tribe), was at Comic-Con and some of the footage appears again in the debut trailer. The film will release February 7, 2014.
Another trailer for Alfonso Cuarón’s (Children of Men) Gravity released into theaters and online. Unlike the other trailers and clips, this one gives us a little more story development. In particular, there are snippets involving Sandra Bullock’s character. George Clooney is also in the movie and it’ll finally release October 4th.
A trailer for Kill Your Darlings, one of the pictures making waves on the film festival circuit, released last week. With names like Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), Michael C. Hall (Showtime’s Dexter), and Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene), you have every right to be excited. The trailer looks pretty suspenseful, and I’m thinking John Krokidas could be one of this year’s new directors that makes a name for himself. The movie releases October 18th.
After last week’s photos of Nicholas Stoller’s (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) Neighbors, I also have a red-band trailer for next year’s movie. Zac Efron (17 Again), Seth Rogen (This is the End), and Rose Byrne (Bridesmaids) are the biggest draws. We’ll see if the Rated-R movie is as funny as its potential on May 9, 2014.
Back to this year, a new trailer came online for 47 Ronin. The movie has been a long time in the making, so it’s nice to see it still exists. The fantasy action movie by Carl Erik Rinsch will finally release December 25th and most notably stars Keanu Reeves (The Matrix). Check out the trailer if you want a look at the action.
Phil Morrison (Junebug) is back at it with another movie. The dramedy stars Paul Rudd (Anchorman) and Paul Giamatti (The Illusionist) and is about a pair of Canadian Christmas tree salesman that go to New York to sell their trees. All is Bright is the title and it’ll release starting October 4th. If it went under the radar (like it did for me), make sure to watch the trailer.
You can also watch the latest trailer for Runner, Runner starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake. I’m really torn on what to think about the movie because it looks like it could be a typical crime thriller. Or, it could turn out to be something much more than that. We’ll see when it releases later this month on September 27th.
Check back in tomorrow for the latest posters!
