News Round-Up: Bruce Willis, Tom Hiddleston Casting; ‘Jurassic World’, ‘Ant-Man’ Release Dates; and More
Like always, there was a lot to cover in this week’s News Round-Up. I’ve picked the nine biggest news breaks in my opinion. Starting with casting, Bruce Willis joined The Prince, Tom Hiddleston joined Crimson Peak, Emma Watson joined Your Voice in My Head, Ellen Page joined Queen & Country, and Daniel Brühl joined The Face of an Angel. Two movies – Ant-Man and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies – updated their release dates, while Jurassic World and Dracula Untold received new titles. Check out all the information below.

At the latest Toronto International Film Festival, it was announced that Bruce Willis has joined Sarik Andreasyan’s (American Heist) The Prince. The movie is set to shoot soon in New Orleans, so release dates and co-stars aren’t available yet. The movie will see Willis’ character confront an old Vegas crime boss. (Source: Variety)
Tom Hiddleston (The Avengers) has apparently replaced the increasingly popular (and busy) Benedict Cumberbatch in Guillermo del Toro’s (Pacific Rim) Crimson Peak. Hiddleston himself is becoming quite the household name. Crimson Peak will be some sort of ghost story and Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty) and Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim) are also involved in the movie. No release date yet, but it will film early next year. (Source: Collider)
Emma Watson (Harry Potter series) has joined Your Voice in my Head. It’s about a woman that deteriorates into mental illness, but is ultimately saved by a doctor. Watson is a fine actress and seems like a great choice. Francesca Gregorini (Tanner Hall) is the director and you can expect a release date later. (Source: EW)
Ellen Page (Inception) finds herself in Queen & Country. Based on an indie comic, Page will play an assassin that is comprised. There isn’t a director (or release date) yet, but Page’s fans can be excited about her potentially taking over a sequel. (Source: THR)
Daniel Brühl, a man who has been busy with the upcoming releases of Rush and The Fifth Estate, signed on to The Face of an Angel. Michael Winterbottom (The Trip) has been developing the project with Brühl likely playing a journalist. The film will focus on the infamous Amanda Knox case (the case, not her). Filming and theatrical release dates aren’t known yet. (Source: Collider)
Jurassic Park 4 has been officially named Jurassic World, a cool name in my opinion, and found a release date. Set to premiere June 12, 2015, it continues the trend of filmageddon that sees the newest Avengers and Star Wars movies (among many others). Colin Trevorrow (Safety Not Guaranteed) will direct the movie. (Source: EW)
Ant-Man adjusted its release date up while Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies moved back. Edgar Wright’s (The World’s End) Marvel comic adaptation will now release July 31, 2015 (speaking of filmageddon). Casting will come later. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Lies, on the other hand, is going the opposite direction. No official release date has been set, but it looks like a 2016 date is likely instead of the original July 10, 2015 date. Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg (Kon-Tiki) will direct the next installment. (Source: Collider, Comingsoon)
Lastly, Dracula has been retitled Dracula Untold. It’s a pretty small change, but I thought I’d fill you in. Luke Evans (The Hobbit) will play the main character while Gary Shore will direct it. The film is set to release October 3, 2014…so it’ll be a bit. (Source: Cinema Blend)
Thanks for stopping by! You can expect the same next Thursday. One more day until the weekend (but who is counting?)
