Clip Mania: Prisoners, Rush, The Counselor, and More
Happy Friday! It’s (basically) the weekend, and I’ve attached some clips for upcoming movies. Below you’ll find clips for movies like Prisoners, Rush, The Counselor, The Fifth Estate, Parkland, Labor Day, and The Face of Love. Scroll to find information on each movie…and of course, to watch the clips.
In case you missed it: trailers, posters, photos, and news for this week.
Have a fantastic weekend!
One of the most exciting movies of the month is just around the corner. Before we know it, Denis Villeneuve’s (Incendies) crime drama Prisoners will be upon us. To get ready, check out the four new clips. The clips give you all you need to know about the three main characters: Hugh Jackman, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood). The movie will officially release September 20th.
Another upcoming movie, Rush, could challenge Prisoners. Ron Howard’s (A Beautiful Mind) Formula-1 pic looks to be pretty exciting. Not excited for it yet? Watch the five clips above and that could change. Based on the real-life rivalry between James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth) and Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl), Rush will release in limited theaters September 20th before expanding wide on September 27th.
A couple clips for Ridley Scott’s (Prometheus) The Counselor released as well. This completes a trifecta of new stuff, since The Counselor released a new poster and photos earlier. The two clips are titled “Truth Has No Temperature” and “I Don’t Know.” The protagonist (a businessman involved in drug trafficking) is Michael Fassbender, while Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem (Skyfall), Penelope Cruz (Vanilla Sky), and Cameron Diaz (Vanilla Sky) are the other big names. The movie releases October 25th.
Another Daniel Brühl movie released a clip. The Fifth Estate, as it’s called, is based on the WikiLeaks scandal. Besides Brühl, it stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness) who you can see in the clip above. Bill Condon (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) directs the film that releases October 18th.
Parkland, another film releasing in October (October 4 to be exact), has also been on a tear recently. Not only did it release a batch of new photos recently, but three clips are available above. Titled “Her Husband Killed the President,” “30 Yards,” and “Doctor, It’s the President,” you can probably make an educated guess on the subject matter. The latest J.F.K. assassination film will focus on the Parkland Hospital after his assassination. Peter Landesman directed the film and Zac Efron (17 Again), Billy Bob Thornton (Tombstone), and Paul Giamatti (Win, Win) are among the castmembers.
A clip titled “How Far are the Train Tracks?” went viral for Labor Day. Jason Reitman (Juno) has had a stellar directing career to this point, so lots of people are excited for his next film. As the clip shows, Josh Brolin (Men in Black III) and Kate Winslet (Titanic) star in the drama. The clip also sets up some of the story since Brolin plays an escaped convict taken in by Winslet and her son (Gattlin Griffth). The movie releases December 25th.
With its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival, The Face of Love (by Arie Posin) unveiled a clip. The movie stars Robin Williams, Annette Bening (The Kids Are All Right), and Ed Harris (Apollo 13). It’ll release eventually, but an official date isn’t known quite yet.
Check back next week, same time, same day, for the next batch of clips.
