Photo Mania: The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Fast & Furious 7, and More
In this week’s edition of Photo Mania, I’ll have a wide range of photos from a wide range of movies. Anticipated movies like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Fast & Furious 7, Gravity, and Need For Speed are represented as well as smaller movies like Kill Your Darlings, Grudge Match, and That Awkward Moment. Check below for the full galleries!
It’s still a few months away, but The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is getting closer and closer. For a new look (through a new batch of photos), check out the gallery below. The pics aren’t very Katniss/Jennifer Lawrence-heavy, but that’s okay because we need to get to know the new cast members! Catching Fire switches up its director (the new one is by Francis Lawrence), but keeps stars Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth in the fold. It adds Jeffrey Wright (Quantum of Solace), Jena Malone (Sucker Punch), and Sam Claflin (Snow White and the Huntsman). The movie releases everywhere in the U.S. November 22nd. (Source: Examiner)
Although it’s not an official first look at Fast & Furious 7, I thought I’d pass along a photo Vin Diesel shared. It first appeared on his Facebook account (which is VERY popular). There isn’t a whole lot to it, but this year’s installment gained a lot of money (and had pretty good reviews), making The Fast & Furious franchise a franchise to be reckoned with. It’ll return Diesel, Paul Walker, and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson when it releases July 11, 2014. James Wan (Insidious) will takeover the directing reigns. (Source: Facebook)
Bringing it back to this year, I’ve attached 22 total photos for Gravity, which stars Sandra Bullock and George Clooney. Alfonso Cuarón (Children of Men) has been working on the film for about four years now, so it’s gathered some steam leading up to its release October 4th. If you can’t wait a couple weekends, check out the photos below. They’re mostly space-related, but they look absolutely beautiful. (Source: Collider)
The first two photos premiered for Need For Speed, the latest video game-to-movie adaptation. Although I’m not sold on the concept, I’m glad they recruited Aaron Paul (AMC’s Breaking Bad) to star in the potential speed racing franchise. Imogen Poots (Fright Night) and Kid Cudi are also involved in the project (by Scott Waugh of Act of Valor) that will release March 14, 2014. You can expect a trailer relatively soon.
A new gallery for John Krokidas’ Kill Your Darlings can be found below. After the release of a new trailer, I became more excited for this release. Starring Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Dane DeHaan (Chronicle), and Michael C. Hall (Showtime’s Dexter), Kill Your Darlings releases October 18th. (Source: Digital Spy)
Grudge Match – the story of two aging boxers reliving their glory days – also released a trailer followed by a photo (above). Pete Segal (Get Smart) was in charge of stars Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone, which will officially release December 25th. (Source: Comingsoon)
That Awkward Moment (recently changed from Are We Officially Dating?) unveiled a new photo as well. This movie also features Imogen Poots, but includes more mainstreamers like Zac Efron (17 Again) and Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale). The comedy, directed by Tom Gormican, debuts October 27th.
