Photo Mania: Ender’s Game, American Hustle, Carrie, and More
Halfway through the week means more pictures! In this week’s edition, I’ll have new photos for Ender’s Game, American Hustle, Carrie, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, 12 Years a Slave, Inside Llewyn Davis, and Philomena. For those keeping track at home, that’s three from this month, two from November, and two from December, making this a very relevant post.
If you’re curious, there were new trailers and posters to check out as well.
Less than a month left! We’ve waited 28 years since Orson Scott Card’s novel was published, but Gavin Hood’s (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) Ender’s Game will finally come out November 1st. Five new photos surfaced to get us ready, and there is an emphasis on the Command School. The film stars Asa Butterfield (Hugo), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), Harrison Ford, and Ben Kingsley. All the photos are available below (Source: Cinema Blend)
I also found a new photo for American Hustle. The photo highlights the crazy awesome cast that includes Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams (The Master), and Jeremy Renner (The Avengers). David O. Russell, who most recently collaborated with Lawrence and Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook, directs the period drama that starts in theaters December 13th. (Source: Cinema Blend)
11 new photos (all below) came online for this month’s Carrie remake. Starring Chloe Grace Moretz (Hugo) and Julianne Moore (Don Jon), it’ll hit theaters October 18th. Kimberly Peirce (Stop-Loss) directed the film and the pictures look about how you’d expect. We’ll see if the movie is as effective as the original. (Source: Collider)
Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit has been on a roll this week. The first trailer and poster made it online, so it only makes sense three photos would release, too. The three photos are above and prominently feature Chris Pine (Star Trek Into Darkness). Releasing on December 25th, Shadow Recruit is directed by Thor’s Kenneth Branagh. (Source: Yahoo)
Also releasing October 18th is 12 Years a Slave (although it’s in limited release). Steve McQueen’s (Shame) biographical movie about Solomon Northup (played by Chiwetel Ejiofor) could be an awards contender come the end of the year, so I’m excited for it! Six new photos are available below for the movie that also stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Star Trek Into Darkness), Michael Fassbender (Shame), and Brad Pitt. (Source: Cinema Blend)
With a new trailer releasing (check back Monday), CBS Film’s Inside Llewyn Davis released four more stills. The Coen Brothers’ (True Grit) musically-inspired period drama stars Oscar Isaac (For Greater Glory), Carey Mulligan (The Great Gatsby), and Justin Timberlake. Check out all four photos below.
Stephen Frears’ (Lay the Favorite) Philomena released two photos. Judi Dench (Skyfall) and Steve Coogan (The Trip) star in the heavy-sounding drama. The Weinstein Company is releasing the film starting November 1st, which likely means it’ll get an awards push. Check it out above! (Source: Yahoo)
Hump Day! Enjoy the rest of the week.
