Trailer Round-Up: American Hustle, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and More
Welcome back to the week. While I’m as bad on Mondays as everyone else, at least there are some new trailers. Silver linings right?
Speaking of silver linings, I’ve attached a new trailer for Silver Linings Playbook director David O. Russell’s American Hustle. Also, I’ve got the newest for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The Monuments Men, Inside Llewyn Davis, Charlie Countryman, and 47 Ronin.
Check them all out below!
This is the second trailer for Russell’s American Hustle. With a cast that includes Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Amy Adams (The Master), and Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker), you wouldn’t be wrong to be excited for this drama. The trailers definitely play up the cast and play down the plot because it’s still tough to get a firm grasp on what it’s about. I’ve had similar thoughts on trailers, so I’m okay with it. American Hustle will hit some theaters starting December 13th and nationwide on Christmas Day.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is another Christmas Day movie. Mitty continues its trend of awesome trailers and I’m also excited for this movie. Ben Stiller directs the remake that also stars Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) and Sean Penn (Into the Wild).
The crowded December lineup continues with The Monuments Men that will release December 18th. It is based on a true story of a group of soldiers in charge of preserving famous art from the Nazis. It has a great cast as well, with George Clooney (who also directs the movie), Matt Damon, Bill Murray, and John Goodman.
Still in December, the Coen Brothers’ (True Grit) Inside Llewyn Davis unveiled a new trailer. The movie about music in New York during the 1920s will hit limited theaters a little earlier (December 6th) than some of the others. It stars Oscar Isaac (For Greater Glory), Carey Mulligan (The Great Gatsby), and Justin Timberlake. Check out the trailer if it sounds interesting.
Moving closer to today, a new trailer for the Shia LaBeouf-starring Charlie Countryman released. The movie, directed by Fredrik Bond, is a love story focusing on Charlie (LaBeouf) and Gabi (Evan Rachel Wood), even though she is married to a violent crime boss (Mads Mikkelsen). As you can see by the trailer, LaBeouf has to endure some bloody encounters. The movie will be available starting November 15th.
A short clip-like trailer released for 47 Ronin – the last film to round out our Christmas Day releases. It most notably stars Keanu Reeves (The Matrix) and the movie has been in production for what seems like forever. While I’m still not sold on the movie, I’m interested to see how audiences respond to it. It’s directed by Carl Erik Rinsch.
Not quite as big of a field this week for trailers, so check back next Monday for more!
