Trailer Round-Up: Frozen, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, and More
Happy Monday! If you’re hankering for the newest trailers, below should be a satisfying experience. You’ll find the latest trailers for Frozen, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, The Grand Budapest Hotel, and Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones. I also attached red-band trailers for That Awkward Moment and Homefront. Finally, an extended international trailer for the awesome-looking The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is included for those that haven’t checked out the U.S. trailers yet (they aren’t a whole lot different).
Enjoy!
Disney’s animated movie Frozen releases next month on November 27th. The final trailer (I’d presume) released this past week. It voice stars Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall), Josh Gad (21), and Alan Tudyk (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story). Frozen is directed by Chris Buck (Surf’s Up) and Wreck-It Ralph writer Jennifer Lee.
Two days after Frozen comes Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. Coming out on November 29th, it stars Idris Elba (Pacific Rim) as Nelson Mandela and Naomie Harris (Skyfall) as his wife Winnie. It’s directed by Justin Chadwick (The Other Boleyn Girl), who looks to have done a fantastic job transforming Elba into the iconic figure (well, him and the make-up department).
Although it’s not a whole lot different than some previous trailers, an extended international trailer for The Secret Life of Walter Mitty surfaced. The story is written and directed by Ben Stiller (and also stars Kristen Wiig) with a December 25th release date. I’d suggest watching the trailer if you haven’t seen anything for the existential movie.
Off the heels of a poster and release date (March 7, 2014), The Grand Budapest Hotel debuted its first trailer. Wes Anderson’s (Moonrise Kingdom) newest movie bolsters a great cast, including Ralph Fiennes, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Tilda Swinton, and Owen Wilson. Check it out above!
One of two Paranormal Activity movies next year released its first trailer. Titled Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones, it’ll be a “sidequel” of sorts to the Paranormal franchise. It’ll release on the first weekend of 2014 (January 3rd to be exact), which has been a spawning ground for great horror film box offices. The movie stars Molly Ephraim (Paranormal Activity 2) and Richard Cabral (End of Watch) and is directed by Christopher Landon (Burning Palms). I personally didn’t watch the trailer (I’m scared), so check it out and leave your thoughts below!
A red-band trailer for That Awkward Moment gives us a glimpse at Zac Efron’s butt. Although that’s not a selling point for me, perhaps you’re different! Efron, Miles Teller (The Spectacular Now), and Michael B. Jordan (Fruitvale) all star in the romantic comedy that will release January 31, 2014. Tom Gormican directed the film.
Speaking of red-band trailers, one released for Homefront starring Jason Statham. Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury) directs the action-thriller that releases in competition with Frozen on November 27th. James Franco (Pineapple Express) and Winona Ryder (Black Swan) star in the movie, too.
Check back tomorrow for the latest movie posters!
