Clip Mania: Thor: The Dark World, Frozen, Last Vegas, and More
Happy Post-Halloween guys and gals. Hopefully the sugar hangover isn’t too horrible. The good news? It’s Friday. That means, among other things, we have a new Clip Mania. In this week’s edition, I have found and attached one clip for Thor: The Dark World, two for Frozen, one for Last Vegas, one for Delivery Man, three for The Book Thief, one for Dallas Buyers Club, and one for The Immigrant. Check them all out below.
Thor: The Dark World is just around the corner. In fact, it’ll be dominating theaters this time next Friday when it releases on November 8th. It returns stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Tom Hiddleston. Alan Taylor of HBO’s Game of Thrones will takeover the directing duties and I’m personally excited for this movie to finally release.
Three weeks after Thor will come Disney’s Frozen. It’ll voice star Kristen Bell (Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and be directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee. It’s based on a fairy tale (Hans Christian Anderson’s ‘The Snow Queen’) with a November 27th release date. Check out the first two clips I’ve seen from the movie above.
After showing off the four main characters in last week’s Clip Mania, Last Vegas revealed another look at their movie earlier. It’s just in time, too, because the comedy comes out starting today. Get one last look above if you’re thinking about seeing the movie in theaters this weekend.
Staying in November, November 22nd’s Delivery Man unleashed a new clip as well. Directed by Starbuck director Ken Scott, the movie remakes a tale about the immature father of 533 children (via a sperm bank if you were wondering). Vince Vaughn’s comedies have been hit-or-miss, so I’m hoping the movie can be as funny as Starbuck when it releases. The clip isn’t making me very hopeful, though.
An under-the-radar drama, The Book Thief, is the quantity winner this week with three new clips. Starring Sophie Nelisse, Geoffrey Rush (The King’s Speech), Emily Watson (Oranges and Sunshine), and directed by Brian Percival (ITV’s Downton Abbey), the World War II drama has the look of a crowd-pleaser. Adding to the hype is the source material which has been received pretty positively. We’ll see how successful the movie is when it releases November 15th.
Dallas Buyers Club is another movie that releases today. Like Last Vegas, a new clip came online to tout its release. Jean-Marc Vallee’s (C.R.A.Z.Y.) drama stars Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto (Requiem for a Dream) and can be seen in limited theaters starting today! I would urge you to seek it out.
The lone 2014 movie with a new clip is The Immigrant. An international clip released earlier, and I’ll be completely honest when I say I hadn’t even heard of this movie before. I should have heard about it, though, because it stars Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker), Joaquin Phoenix (The Master), and Marion Cotillard (The Dark Knight Rises). James Gray’s film doesn’t have a specific release date in 2014 yet, so keep an ear open.
Have a great weekend folks!
