Trailer Round-Up: Muppets Most Wanted, RoboCop, and More
Welcome back to the week! Since it’s Monday, that means I’ll have the latest trailers to show off. I had to make some cuts this week, but all the most important (well, that’s debatable) movies are featured below. Specifically, you can find Muppets Most Wanted, RoboCop, Need for Speed, Sabotage, Vampire Academy, A Haunted House 2 (wahoo!), and Repentance.
Check them all out!
One of 2011’s most surprisingly awesome films was The Muppets. Inevitably, a sequel was announced shortly after, but that, along with Jason Segel’s absence from the sequel, hasn’t kept me from anticipating the new film. Titled Muppets Most Wanted, it’ll be directed by James Bobin again with Ricky Gervais (The Invention of Lying), Ty Burrell (ABC’s Modern Family), and Tina Fey (Date Night) joining the film. If the trailer isn’t enough for you, circle March 21, 2014 on your calendar because that’s when the movie releases.
RoboCop, a remake of the 1987 film, released yet another trailer. The film stars Joel Kinnaman (AMC’s The Killing) as the iconic RoboCop with superhero stars Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises), Michael Keaton (Batman), and Samuel L. Jackson (The Avengers) all appearing as well. Jose Padilha (Bus 174) directs the movie, which will come out February 12, 2014.
Scott Waugh’s (Act of Valor) Need for Speed also released another trailer. Although the movie doesn’t look all the good from the trailers, I’m excited Aaron Paul (AMC’s Breaking Bad) is involved in the project. However, one person can’t stop a movie from sucking (which I’ve found out many times before). We’ll see on March 14, 2014.
David Ayer’s (End of Watch) Sabotage is set to release April 11, 2014, before his currently filming Fury (which has been getting a lot of attention). Before we get ahead of ourselves, we should pay attention to next year’s action film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sam Worthington (Avatar), and Terrence Howard (Prisoners). The first trailer is above.
Vampire Academy, another book made into a movie adaptation, unveiled another trailer. Mark Waters’ (The Spiderwick Chronicles) film will release on Valentine’s Day (February 14, 2014) with Zoey Deutch (Beautiful Creatures) and Lucy Fry (TeenNick’s Lightning Point) starring in the fantasy picture.
In case you loved A Haunted House (no judging), a trailer for next year’s A Haunted House 2 released. To be honest, I didn’t even bother watching the trailer, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t attach it (right…right!?). It’ll star Marlon Wayans (again) and hit theaters March 28, 2014 with Michael Tiddes directing.
The final trailer belongs to Repentance – a horror film starring Anthony Mackie (Pain & Gain) and Forest Whitaker (Lee Daniels’ The Butler). I still don’t know a lot about this movie, but I can tell you that it’s slated for a February 28, 2014 limited release. Take a look at the trailer to get a feel for the movie.
